This splendid musical box in Baroque style is entirely handmade in Sorrento, by professional wood workers.
Baroque is a new style in the seventeenth-century, here in Italy, bombastic and extravagant in its shapes.
The carillon’s lid is made of various natural and colored wood thin sheet.
Inside it is made of mahogany wood. Its edge is made with olive ash root. Further on its lid it’s represented one of the most beautiful Syrentum landscape with the Vesuvius in the background. Inside the music inlaid box you can appreciate a smooth velvet frame.
Only the most exploited Sorrento inlaid wood workers are able to realize an object like this.
